While Sofia’s Cakes specializes in Tagaytay wedding cakes, we also have a selection of signature dessert cakes which we offer to upon the request of our inquiring clients.

Special Note:

We don’t encourage the use of dessert cakes as wedding cakes.  First of all, many of these frosting options (i.e. cream cheese, ganache, chocolate fudge), tend to require refrigeration, as opposed to our special blend of fondant or buttercream– which are easily tried and tested to retain their shape for hours in typical Tagaytay wedding reception conditions.

Secondly, many of these dessert cakes use lighter, more delicate cakes, not quite up to the task of holding up all the weight of a typical three-tier wedding cake (or an even larger version of it).

That said, our Dessert Cakes are usually ordered:


Red Velvet CakeRed Velvet Cake

Definitely one of our best-sellers here at Sofia’s Cakes, the ever-popular Red Velvet cake is actually a variation of the more traditional Devil’s Food Cake, only with a bright red color, and lots of fluffy cream cheese frosting.

Our Red Velvet Cake is available:

  • As part of a styled cake table spread or wedding dessert station.
  • As a regular 8×3″ round cake
  • In custom shapes: heart-shaped cakes for Valentines’ Day, number-shaped cakes, etc.
  • As cupcakes or mini-cakes, usually as gifts for special occasions, or wedding giveaways for VIP guests.

Ube-Macapuno CakeUbe-Macapuno Cake

We’ve noticed that our Ube-Macapuno cake is extremely popular among balikbayan guests, or our more mature/sophisticated clients.  Also made of a delicate cake and lots of yummy cream cheese frosting, our Ube-Macapuno cake uses real ube (purple yams), and a generous topping of sweetened macapuno.

Our Ube-Macapuno Cake is available:

  • As part of a styled cake table spread or wedding dessert station.
  • As a regular 8×3″ round cake
  • In custom shapes: heart-shaped cakes for Valentines’ Day, number-shaped cakes, etc.
  • As cupcakes or mini-cakes, usually as gifts for special occasions, or wedding giveaways for VIP guests.

Another favorite is our very own Carrot Cake.  Real home-grown carrots are used, along with walnuts and raisins, resulting in a moist, yet dense cake creation, and frosted with generous amounts of delicious cream cheese frosting.

Our Carrot Cake is available:

  • As a regular 8×3″ round cake
  • In custom shapes: heart-shaped cakes for Valentines’ Day, number-shaped cakes, etc.

Mango CakeMango Cake

Another balikbayan favorite, thanks to the availability of mangos year-round now.  We use layers of chiffon cake, and heaps of diced Philippine mango (the good kind!), giving it a sweet-tart taste balanced with cream cheese frosting.

Our Mango Cake is available:

  • As part of a styled cake table spread or wedding dessert station.
  • As a regular 8×3″ round cake
  • In custom shapes: heart-shaped cakes for Valentines’ Day, number-shaped cakes, etc.

Mocha CakeMocha Cake

It’s a delicious moist cake with flavorful tones of espresso and chocolate, with a soft mocha buttercream frosting.  The Mocha Cake is a particular favorite among the gentlemen (but the ladies love it too!).

  • As part of a styled cake table spread or wedding dessert station.
  • As a regular 8×3″ round cake
  • In custom shapes: heart-shaped cakes for Valentines’ Day, number-shaped cakes, etc.

Sofia’s Cakes’ Lemon Butter Cakes are a staple for our popular custom wedding cakes.  It has a balance of moistness and firmness that makes it one of our few preferred cakes when making our trademark wedding cakes, as it holds either fondant or buttercream quite nicely.

Our Lemon Butter Cake is available:

  • As a classic cake flavor choice for our custom fondant cakes for weddings and other special occasions.
  • As part of a styled cake table spread or wedding dessert station.
  • As a regular 8×3″ round cake
  • In custom shapes: heart-shaped cakes for Valentines’ Day, number-shaped cakes, etc.
  • As cupcakes or mini-cakes, usually as gifts for special occasions, or wedding giveaways for VIP guests.

Available, but not shown just yet: our chocolate fudge cake, mint-chocolate cake, chocolate-vanilla marble cake, kahlua cake, vanilla pound cake, banana-walnut cake, orange pound cake, and traditional moist chocolate cake.

Also available: KitKat cakes, rainbow-colored cakes, and ombre cakes.
