National Dessert Day is celebrated on October 14, 2015. Dessert is a typically sweet course that concludes a meal. The course usually consists of sweet foods, but may include other items. There is a wide variety of desserts in western cultures including cakes, cookies, biscuits, gelatins, pastries, ice creams, pies, puddings, and candies. Fruit is also commonly found in dessert courses because of its natural sweetness.
Many different cultures have their own variations of similar desserts around the world, such as in Russia, where many breakfast foods such as blint, oladi, and syrniki can be served with honey and jam to make them popular as desserts. The loosely defined course called dessert can apply to many foods.
Desserts are by definition a sweet course. This usually means high content of sugar or fats. Desserts have historically been known as a smaller course to end a meal but in modern times they have become a more major part of people’s diets. Although desserts are sweet a small amount of sugar is recommended in a daily diet.
When putting together a birthday celebration in Tagaytay, there are quite a few things you need to put on your to-do list: party food, invitations, the program, games and activities for the day, the decor, giveaways and souvenirs, and quite possibly the most important thing of all– the birthday cake.
While Sofia’s Cakes Tagaytay-Amadeo Road specializes in custom wedding cakes, we also get requests for special birthday cakes, and cakes for other special occasions.
One-tier cakes are great– usually made of fondant, if you have a particular design in mind. By itself, it makes any social gathering a lot more festive. And if you want to scale up your party a bit more, you can always get more birthday cupcakes, additional dessert cakes, or even a themed candy-and-dessert station.
They say 75% of dads are responsible for their child’s emotional well-being, but we don’t see this as much in the media.
Dove celebrates Father’s Day 2014 with “Calls For Dad”, a heartwarming short film to acknowledge all the little caring moments of fatherhood that- more often than not- go overlooked.
Not a paid endorsement; we here at Sofia’s Cakes Tagaytay-Amadeo Road think that Dove did a pretty good job at tugging at our emotional heart-strings with this campaign. Here’s a box of tissues for you to pass around.
