Sofia’s Cakes Tagaytay-Amadeo Road is proud to have been a part of Eunice and Raymond’s Tagaytay wedding through this lovely travel-themed wedding cupcake tower we’ve put together for their big day!
Adorning the cupcake tower is Raymond and Eunice’s custom cake figurine, featuring Raymond in his pilot uniform, and Eunice in her wedding gown, with both of them sitting on a little airplane. We’ve incorporated their purple-and-green color palette on the bride’s bouquet, and on the detailing on the plane.
The custom cake figurine sits on top of a one-tier moist chocolate wedding cake with buttercream frosting, which in turn forms the top of our wedding cupcake tower.
The cupcakes on the tower are also made of moist chocolate, and also have buttercream frosting. The cupcakes also have travel-themed candy toppers on them. Eunice and Raymond also requested that their cupcakes be packed in individual dome packaging so that their guests can easily take these giveaways with them as wedding souvenirs.
Wedding Cupcake Tower Specifications:
Custom Cake Topper: Groom in pilot uniform, bride in bridal gown. Both seated on top of a little passenger airplane.
1-Tier Cake: approximate size is 7×4″, in moist chocolate and butter cream frosting.
Cupcakes: 50 cupcakes in moist chocolate with custom travel-themed candy toppers. Has clear dome packaging and “Thank You” cards.
Here’s a wedding cake we did for Mimi & Aaron’s beautiful Tagaytay garden wedding. Their buttercream wedding cake had a white cake body, with horizontal ridge-work on both tiers, and a custom cake topper.
Here’s a closer look at their wedding cake topper. Mimi & Aaron asked us to put together a bride-and-groom figurine set for them with their yellow-and-green color motif worked into the design.
Buttercream Wedding Cake Specifications:
Custom Cake Topper: Groom in a suit with a green tie, bride with a bouquet (with green, yellow, and white flowers). Both seated on a bench, with the bride holding on to a bunch of yellow and green balloons.
2-Tier Buttercream Wedding Cake: approximate sizes is 6×5″ (top), and 10×5″ (base).
Cake in moist chocolate flavor. Both tiers were made of real cake.
White buttercream frosting, with horizontal ridges on both tiers.
Yellow candy roses as accent-pieces.
Wedding Venue: Yellow Coco Hotel in Tagaytay City.

Buttercream wedding cakes are still a very popular option for Metro Tagaytay weddings, particularly for couples who have an outdoor or garden setting, or for those going for a variety of a rustic or vintage theme.
We’d like to direct your attention to this lovely set of shots taken by the good people over at Mike & Mai Photography, from a wedding of one of our clients from last year, featuring our very own Kate Design 3-tier buttercream wedding cake.
Styling was done by the very capable team of K by Cunanan. Pay close attention to how they put together that beautiful cake spread with design elements in wood, glass and metal, with little candles and fresh flowers as accent-pieces.
Candy floral work is in two shades of pink. Our couple asked us to come up with a special cake topper for their wedding cake– a couple of wooden hearts with their initials on one, and their wedding date on another.
This buttercream wedding cake design has sinamay (a local kind of burlap) wrapped around the base of each cake tier, with another set of the couple’s initials attached to the bottom-most tier.
Rounding out the styled cake showcase are bunches of fresh flowers adorning the base of the wooden barrel, with a few more arrangements on the accompanying table.
The husband-and-wife team of Mike and Mai run the eponymous specialty photography outfit, with Mike’s photography background in fashion, glamor and portraiture, and Mai’s in landscape, lifestyle and travel shots. They’re a popular choice among both Tagaytay and Metro Manila soon-to-weds, with an impressive portfolio of wedding photographs that you could check out on the official Mike & Mai Photography website here.
(From all of us here at Sofia’s Cakes in Tagaytay: we pray for Mai’s speedy recovery. From Mike’s updates, we hear she’s recuperating just nicely. So keep fighting the good fight, Mail! We hope to see you guys soon at one of our upcoming weddings and events! –Renzie of Sofia’s Cakes)
