When putting together a birthday celebration in Tagaytay, there are quite a few things you need to put on your to-do list: party food, invitations, the program, games and activities for the day, the decor, giveaways and souvenirs, and quite possibly the most important thing of all– the birthday cake.
While Sofia’s Cakes Tagaytay-Amadeo Road specializes in custom wedding cakes, we also get requests for special birthday cakes, and cakes for other special occasions.
Check out our special Tagaytay party packages here.
One-tier cakes are great– usually made of fondant, if you have a particular design in mind. By itself, it makes any social gathering a lot more festive. And if you want to scale up your party a bit more, you can always get more birthday cupcakes, additional dessert cakes, or even a themed candy-and-dessert station.
Here are twelve one-tier birthday celebration ideas you might want to use for your Tagaytay party planning efforts:
1. Lego Ninja-go Birthday Cake
The Ninja-Go cake topper is actually made of polymer clay. Especially if you’d want a little souvenir after the day’s festivities, a custom cake topper is an option for you.
2. Nautical-themed Birthday
Great for: pool parties, beach parties, or if your little one has a strong affinity for boats and the ocean.
3. Message-on-a-Cake
We get lots of these orders from our kabayans abroad who’d want to send a little something special for their loved ones back here at home. Added touch: get some flowers too, or a gift certificate to a day at the spa or restaurant or something. Also great for: Valentine’s Day, anniversaries and proposals.
4. Doll-on-a-Cake
For little girls who love their dolls. If she’s particular about the dolls she want (i.e. Barbie, My Little Pony, Monster University, etc.), then we suggest using the originals, which can then be cleaned up and set aside after the birthday party.
5. Cars-themed Birthday Cake
One of our more popular themes as far as little boys’ birthday parties go, it’s fairly easy to get anyone who fancies cars, racing, Formula 1, etc. interested. Thanks to the popularity of the Disney animated feature, you’ll also find lots of Cars-themed party ideas, as well as party paraphernalia just about anywhere.
6. Superman-themed Cake
Many character inspirations for our birthday cakes have a certain timelessness about them, and Superman is the quintessential superhero for just about any dude, whether they’re little boys, or full-grown men. Ordered with just a few extra cupcakes (for just a little more extra cake!).
7. Little Airplane Cupcake Tower Top
This one started out as a 1-tier birthday cake, and later had 50 cupcakes accompanying it (and so we made it into a cupcake tower instead). Great for your little one who’s into airplanes or travel, or for a despedida/salubong party.
8. Fairy Princess Cake
This one’s for your little fairy princess. Birthday cake comes with a little tiara and a magic wand made in gumpaste candy.
9. Minnie Mouse Cake
For little girls, some of the most popular party themes we’ve had over the years would be Barbie, Disney Princesses, Tinker Bell, and Minnie Mouse. You can have smaller cakes (or cupcakes) with the rest of the Mickey and Friends gang too!
10. Hello Kitty! on Buttercream
If you’re not particularly fond of fondant, there’s always buttercream. And in our opinion, buttercream tastes so much better than fondant. Here’s a simple rosette-detailed buttercream cake with a small platoon of Hello Kitty! toys on top.
11. Transformers Cake
Whenever there’s a trending pop culture franchise, we always expect a surge of inquiries. As in the case of Marvel’s Avengers (or Iron Man, Captain America et al), Spider-man, Star Wars, or in this case, the Transformers. That’s a real Bumblebee toy on top of the cake, by the way.
12. Little Birdie Cake
This one was made for a christening event for one of our good friends, and features a clean fondant design, with a little “Andy’s Christening” scribbled on top of the cake.
